Monty Don is fantastic! If you're a gardener and unfamiliar with him, you should check him out! As I mentioned earlier, I fully embraced gardening in 2020. My backyard was an uninviting, bare dog run. With my floral and event design business shut down due to the pandemic, I suddenly found myself with time, something I hadn't experienced in adulthood. Seeking engagement and a personal space, I ventured outside to start a garden. I'm someone who learns best through hands-on experience and isn't afraid of making mistakes in my own space. I turned to my favorite university's YouTube channel and jumped in trowel-first. YouTube is a remarkable resource for audio-visual learners like me. I soon became engrossed in Monty Don's content, binge-watching hours of the BBC’s Gardeners' World. In the fall of 2019, a storm knocked down five trees; some fell in the yard, and one even hit my house. This transformed my mostly shaded yard, and with Monty Don’s guidance, I could establish my first flower bed.
