Seeds Glorious Seeds

Helping gardeners for over a hundred

Hello Friends,

I feel so lucky to live in an area with several fabulous garden centers, each offering unique services, specialties, and products. Allen, Sterling, and Lothrop have been serving the Maine community for over a hundred years.

I love spending time in greenhouses during the winter. Recently, I realized I needed (my husband would disagree) more poppy seeds, so I decided to visit Allen, Sterling & Lothrop in Falmouth, ME. When I entered the greenhouse, the colorful geraniums instantly lifted my mood. They also have well priced topiaries, if you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love topiaries!

As I ventured deeper into the store, I reached my favorite section: the Campo De Fiori pottery display. I am obsessed with these heirloom-quality pots, especially their living moss finish, which adds a sophisticated and relaxed feel to any home or garden.

In the gift section, I reminded myself that I already have too much stuff, but the charming garden vegetable plates caught my eye.

My last stop was the seed wall, which I always enjoy exploring. My great-great-grandfather was a seed man who worked his way up in the industry and eventually bought the business. Although the seed company is still in operation today, we no longer have any connection to it.

This week, I plan to start my seeds. Hooray, the growing season is upon us!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this gem of a store. Let me know your thoughts by liking or commenting on the post.
