Hello Garden Friends,
Welcome to another episode of Musings with Mum. As many of you know, I have been waiting all winter to get out into the garden. I have been sketching, outlining, and dreaming about spring for months. We have had a cold, wet spring thus far, which is getting in the way of my gardening. I usually have pulled my back out at least three times by now, but this year has been too wet. Fortunately, I have a mini doll house-sized greenhouse, just large enough to start seeds!
Because outdoor work has not been possible lately, I have been touring nurseries in my area. Yesterday, I went to a small and lovely family-run spot. Their lettuce seedlings were so beautiful. It made me excited to see what lettuces have self-seeded in my garden. I am drawn to lettuce plants. It is the feminine ruffles that appeal to me. I love to include lettuce in containers.
I am planning to grow some lettuce in containers this year. I like the idea of window boxes full of lettuce, but my house is not a window box kind of house. Once I have my containers pulled and cleaned, I will fill one or two with lettuce! I will document potting up these lush leaves.
Lettuce is fun to add to centerpieces too. Here are some ideas from Pinterest.com.
Do you think vegetables are suitable for decorating your table? I hope so; they are not only delicious but also beautiful.
Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your support.
XO,
Celia
